Supplementary reading: The original Scientific American article introducing the Semantic Web

This is the original article that introduced the Semantic Web vision, co-authored by Tim Berners-Lee, the very person who invented the WWW in the late 80s. The article represents Berners-Lee’s original vision of the Web, a vision where the meaning of information played a far more important role than what is the case in today’s Web.
